Bruce Springsteen was part of a stout lineup last night in New York City to raise money for the Bob Woodruff Foundation. Springsteen has performed at the event every year since 2007 and shows his appreciation to our men and women in uniform that serve this country. Springsteen usually plays about 3-4 acoustic songs and throws in a small little dirty joke in-between, which I have to admit the last one was pretty funny last night! Springsteen performed some classics and was very Born In The USA heavy: For You, Darlington County, Working On The Highway, and finally Dancing in the Dark. Then came the part that is always interesting which is the auction! Bruce yet again brought out a fender and started jamming on it as the bidding was taking place. Through the bids he usually throws in some great items to put the cost of the bid even higher. This time, in addition to the guitar Bruce threw in two tickets and backstage passes to the next E Street Band tour. Yup, that's right. Bruce basically confirming, although not a big surprise, that the band will eventually be back on the road sometime in the near future. To put it over the top he threw in his classic mother's lasagna. There was a bidding war and it eventually sold to two different people who will both get the items provided for a total of $740,000! Money going to a great cause and it's never bad to support a great cause and hang out with Bruce and the band backstage before a show on the next tour. Great to see Bruce and company supporting America's men and women and raising a lot of money for a great cause! Videos below!
