Springsteen Opens Brooklyn Show With Prince's "Purple Rain"

For the first time this tour, Bruce Springsteen has opened a show with a song other than "Meet Me In The City." A emotional and stunning tribute to the late Prince took its place. There was word that "Purple Rain" was being soundchecked before the show and we all thought that it would most likely open the encores as other Springsteen tributes of David Bowie and Glenn Frey have on this tour. I tuned into Periscope at the perfect time, about 60 seconds later the lights go out and the stage turned purple. You instantly knew that this opening was going to be special and that The Boss was opening with the famous Prince song. Sure enough he did.
