We have known that Springsteen was putting out a 'Western Stars' movie this calendar year for a few weeks now. Today, we got a little more information thanks to the Toronto International Film Festival which will debut the film this September. According to the festival's website: "The incomparable Bruce Springsteen performs his critically acclaimed latest album and muses on life, rock, and the American dream, in this intimate and personal concert film co-directed by Thom Zimny and Springsteen himself."

The festival, which runs from September 5 through the 15th, will launch the world premier of the film. In this new film, Springsteen will perform his latest studio album, Western Stars, from start to finish and provide some context in-between songs that relate to both his career and some previous characters in his song catalog. Although an official Blu-Ray/DVD release is not expected, Springsteen fans will likely have the opportunity to watch the film through Springsteen's YouTube channel or possibly even another Netflix special. Time will tell but it looks like we will be able to see the long awaited performance this September.
