Yesterday, Tim Cook (CEO of Apple) announced on stage with U2 that there new album, Songs of Innocence, was going to be free for everyone who had iTunes through Mid-October. Sure enough, I go onto my computer and there it is already waiting for me in my music library. Tim Cook after the event claimed that if the U2 deal fell through that they were in negotiations with Springsteen to release his new, up and coming album Clampdown. Cook went on to say that they were even working on an entirely new Springsteen Limited Edition iPhone. This limited edition iPhone would have had Springsteen's signature on the back of the device with his guitar artwork. Interestingly enough a U2 limited edition iPhone did not make an appearance but Cook said that the iPhone would have been a Springsteen exclusive and would have came in two new iPhone colors, red and blue. We were very close to hearing the new Springsteen album yesterday and would have seen some Springsteen iPhones.
